Your idea, in the shape a funder reads
The academician · What’s possible · F3
Your idea reframed into aims and hypotheses, with the weak half named rather than flattered.
Why this matters for your role
The evidence user’s skill: follow the citation, check its context and decide whether it applies.
Your worked example
A fictional journal-club abstract describes 48 residents whose mean quiz score rose from 6/10 to 8/10 immediately after a workshop. There is no control group, follow-up or patient-outcome measure.
Put it into practice
Make a claim/evidence/limitation table. Identify why this cannot establish a lasting improvement in clinical care. Draft three questions for journal club.

Your idea, in the shape a funder reads
Your idea reframed into aims and hypotheses, with the weak half named rather than flattered.
Act as a grants officer who has read a thousand applications. This is a practice exercise on my own idea. My research idea, in plain language: [DESCRIBE IT IN 10–15 LINES — the problem, what you would do, why it matters here] Do four things: 1. Restate it as a specific aim, two sub-aims and a testable hypothesis, in the register a funding panel expects. 2. Write the "significance" paragraph, and separately the "innovation" paragraph, and tell me honestly which of the two is weaker in my idea. 3. List the feasibility questions a reviewer will ask about doing this in an Indian setting — sample access, follow-up, ethics clearance, equipment, staff time. 4. Give me the three reasons this gets desk-rejected before review, and what would have to be true to remove each one. Do not invent collaborators, preliminary data, budgets or citations. End with a short section titled "Your check" listing what I must verify myself before using any of this.
Synthetic practice example. Run it as-is and check the output against the supplied facts.
Your check
The feasibility list is generic until you test it against your actual institution. Confirm ethics and access before you write a single budget line.
Educational practice. Do not submit model-written text as your own scholarly work where that breaches the funder’s or your institution’s policy.
